The Saga of St. Aloysius Anglo-Indian School: Visakhapatnam.

• St. Aloysius School, the brain child of Fr. Jean Marie Tissot MSFS, was initiated in June, 1847 int wo small rooms in the north east corner near the beach with the Services of Br. Pierre Carton MSFS the first teacher lived on this campus.
• Between 1847 and 1864 Fr. J. Decompoix MSFS nutured it.
• Fr. Alexis Riccaz MSFS gov Govt. recognition and christened ‘St. Aloysius’.
• In 1873, more land was acquired, more Facilities were added.
• Fr. J. L. Contat MSFS (1899-1927) with the engineering and architectural expertise from Fr. Cyrill Allioud MSFS and later in 1936 Fr. Joseph Baud expanded and taken it to heights.
• The school was the Jewel of the East Coast Indian in Madras Presidency.
• Fr. Alexander Kottam MSFS built the new Boarding building and separated it from the school and provided new KG block.
• In 1997 the Stage was built as a souvenir of 150 Years Jubilee.
• In 2022 St. Aloysisu is 175 years Young, untired and undeterred goes on with the mission of Virtue et Labore, forming the Character and Right Effort.
• Proud of their Alma Mater, the Aloysians carry forward the Spirit of St. Aloysius, accomplishing great and small for the country and the world.
